MVFW is BACK!
Ledger & RTFKT, Aerpostale, and Cathy Hackl's New Launch
Greetings friends. It’s been a busy few weeks in the world of digital fashion and one thing is becoming increasingly clear…
Digital fashion is here to stay.
Let’s get into it.
Metaverse Fashion Week is Coming Up
Guess who’s back. Back again. MVFW.
The second annual Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) is quickly approaching. Running March 28-31 in Decentraland, the Future Heritage-themed event will welcome new platforms and brands with open arms.
So far, MVFW has announced experiences created by Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas Virtual Gear, DKNY, Alo Yoga, and many more.
Ledger partners with RTFKT on an ‘elevated approach’ to Web3 safety
As part of a slew of Paris Fashion week announcements, Ledger and Rtfkt will release custom editions of the Ledger Nano S Plus and Nano X, in both NFT and physical form.
But this is only the beginning of the duo’s collaboration. Future products will be launched on Ledger Market, guiding owners through RTFKT Quests to educate them on the basics of Web3 safety.
Aeropostale heads for the metaverse in partnership with Metaverse Plus
New week, new fashion retailer headed for the metaverse. Aerpostale has partnered with Metaverse Plus to launch Aeroworld, and its AeroPax access pass NFTs.
The initial collection of 30,000 AeroPax avatars is slated to launch on March 23. Each AeroPax will feature a unique blend of traits, styles, personalities, and abilities.
AeroWorld, which is still under development, will let users access virtual and IRL experiences and collect in-game points, which can be redeemed for exclusive AeroPax merch and other VIP perks.
Cathy Hackl Founds VerseLuxe Label
Metaverse pioneer and Digital Fashion Weekly subscriber Cathy Hackl (hi Cathy!) announced the launch of VerseLuxe Label, a luxury tech label and lab exploring the future of fashion and luxury.
For the brand’s first capsule collection titled Frillz, Hackl joined forces with prominent jeweler and artist Simone Faurschou. Owners can both wear and scan the NFC-chip embedded pendants, turning the physical jewelry into a virtual asset.
👾 Pixels and Threads:
Alo Yoga releases a unisex digital wearable line in The Sandbox, which will be available for use by avatars across virtual worlds and platforms like Roblox, Snapchat, ReadyPlayerMe, RecRoom, and TikTok.
After winning the lawsuit over MetaBirkin’s creator Mason Rothschild, Hermes is looking to block the sale of the NFTs altogether.
Balmain brings popular Unicorn sneakers to Web3.
The KIZI Fabric Contest is now open. The theme? Japan. That’s it for this week. As always, please reach out with any feedback or pass this newsletter along to friend or two who you think might enjoy.
Thanks,
Randy
